605 is happy to introduce Maddie Fry to our already awesome coaching team. Maddie will begin her coaching journey with us this Friday evening (22nd). We are really pleased to have an such experienced coach and accomplished athlete join the team.
Maddie is 25 years old and hails from Nailsea near Bristol. She has vast experience in competing and coaching artistic gymnastics, has competed at national level in weightlifting and has taken part of a number of team/pairs functional fitness competitions.
Why not give her a big 605 welcome when you next see her in class and read on if you want to find out a bit more about Maddie.
Women’s artistic gymnastics coach for 8 years.
1 Year+ coaching CrossFit and weightlifting at Portishead
Sporting Background and Achievements:
I was a gymnast for 14 years and trained around 24 hours a week. My biggest achievements whilst competing as a gymnast were competing at the British Championships. Competing in Florida and placing 5th all around. Placing 3rd at the National Challenge Cup.
CrossFit and weightlifting for 3 years. I competed at the British Weightlifting Championships in 2016 and placed 8th.
Why you love coaching?:
Having been involved in sport for most of my life, I enjoy helping others see why exercise can be fun. I also love seeing how excited people get when they achieve something new, whether its a PB snatch or doing a handstand for the first time.
What can you bring to 605?:
A fun training environment. Gymnastics knowledge and progressions. And of course, great footwear (sliders!)
Favorite thing to do away from the gym?:
Anything active. I love going shopping with friends and going out to eat.
