Registration is now open for one of the biggest online fitness events in the world. The Reebok CrossFit Games Open 2019 comprises 5 workouts over 5 weeks of action, the first being released on the last Thursday/Friday in February. 

Hundreds of thousands of CrossFitters like you will sign up from around the world to take part in this truly global event. Some will sign up purely for fun or for gym bragging rights, others will be aiming to go further- potentially the CrossFit Games, held in July in Madison, Wisconsin, USA.

The Open is the biggest competition in the CrossFit calendar. Its participation is global. It is challenging yet rewarding. It highlights your strengths and your weaknesses. It can tell you what you are like as an athlete and so too your friends and training partners. For some, it’s an opportunity to go for their best possible time. For others, it gives them that extra drive and incentive to get that first pull up, muscle up or handstand push up.

So, you may ask, why should I sign up for the Open?

This is a question we get asked regularly. Here are a few very good reasons why you should.

You CAN do it?

It is a chance for all our members to take part in a global fitness event, no matter what level. This competition is not just for the Big Dawgs, it’s for everyone. Whether you’ve been doing CrossFit for 3 months or 3 years, it’s an opportunity for everyone to see how far they have come in their CrossFit journey.

The introduction of a new ‘Scaled’ category in 2015 has meant that thousands more people will enter even if they are slightly less experienced. It is safe to say that those who took part in 2015 probably surpassed their expectations and I’m sure the same will happen this year.

It’s a community event

Over the years, the Open has proven to be a great way to bring the 605 community together. Whether you are taking part, helping judge or cheering your friends on, we all get a chance to push ourselves together and experience a shared challenge.

It’s fun

Waiting up for the workout announcements, competing alongside your friends and achieving things you never thought possible are all part of the fun of the Open season. If there is one CrossFit competition to be involved with – its the Open.

We will be programming each Open workout every Monday over the Open season. The workout will form the conditioning element of each class and will be preceded by a thorough warm up and  strength/skill portion as usual.
